ELIXIR

ELIXIR is a European life sciences research infrastructure that brings together 23 countries and more than 250 research institutions. Estonia has been a member since 2013. ELIXIR Estonia is led by the University of Tartu, with additional partners including Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), the Institute of Chemical and Biological Physics, Tallinn University, and the Estonian University of Life Sciences. The overall goal of ELIXIR is to integrate life science data, tools, computing resources, standards, and training opportunities into a unified infrastructure.

ELIXIR Estonia focuses mainly on two areas:

  • Developing and maintaining high-quality services and tools
  • Enhancing life scientists’ data analysis and data management skills by offering relevant training

ELIXIR Estonia provides researchers with access to bioinformatics resources, tools, and training that they can use to advance their research. This promotes data sharing, collaboration, and transparency in scientific work, which are core principles of Open Science.
