Estonian universities and research institutions are members of several projects directly related to increasing the visibility of Open Science.

Enlight

Enlight (European university Network to promote equitable quality of Life, sustainability and Global engagement through Higher education Transformation) is a European university network established in 2020 that promotes equitable quality of life, sustainability, and global openness through the transformation of higher education. The network consists of ten classical research universities: University of the Basque Country, University of Bern (as an associated partner), University of Bordeaux, Comenius University in Bratislava, University of Galway, Ghent University, University of Groningen, University of Göttingen, University of Tartu, and Uppsala University. The goal of the Enlight network’s Enlight RISE project is to become more competitive and innovative together by leveraging strengths, innovation potential, and partnerships to jointly promote a greener, healthier, and more sustainable Europe. This project also raises awareness of Open Science.

LibOCS

LibOCS (University libraries strengthening the academia-society connection through citizen science in the Baltics) is a project launched in 2022 under the Erasmus+ program. Its aim is to strengthen the ties between the academic community and society through open citizen science, supported by Baltic research libraries.

Skills4EOSC

Skills4EOSC (Skills for the European Open Science commons: Creating a Training Ecosystem for Open and FAIR Science) brings together leading expertise from national, regional, institutional, and thematic Open Science (OS) and data competence centers in 18 European countries. Its goal is to integrate the current training landscape into a unified and reliable pan-European ecosystem.

EOSC-ENTRUST

EOSC-ENTRUST aims to create a network of trusted research environments for sensitive data in Europe and promote European interoperability by jointly developing a common plan for access to and analysis of connected data. Targeted outreach expands this open network with additional service providers and develops policy documents and guidelines for all stakeholders to establish a long-term operational TRE framework within the European Open Science Cloud.

BiCIKL

The BiCIKL project is building a community of biodiversity and natural sciences research infrastructures in Europe to ensure the implementation of Open Science practices at all stages of research by guaranteeing data availability and access to services.
